Nov. 1 @11:30 @ ROW Restaurant. \nWe will be collecting for Pillows for Troops; $10.00 provides a pillow for a troop member overseas. \nWe will also be filling out Christmas Cards for Troops- Cards and sample messages will be provided. \nKaren Vaughn\nOur Guest Speaker is Karen Vaughn\, Author of World Changer and frequent FOX news guest. She is a Gold Star Mother and has a compelling story of her son Aaron a US Navy Seal. On August 6\, 2011 Aaron was killed in action in the Tangi River \nKaren Vaughn’s Book\nValley of Afghanistan when a chopper (call sign Extortion 17) carrying thirty Americans was shot from the sky while rushing into battle. Losing Aaron changed everything….and put Karen on a new path. \nOver the past six years\, Karen has emerged on the national scene as a powerful spokeswoman for not only our defenders still fighting on foreign soil and securing peace across the globe\, but also as an advocate for a better\, stronger\, more resilient America.  In recent months\, she’s dedicated herself to helping parents build strong\, formidable\, goal-oriented families. \nCarrying on Aaron’s legacy has brought this Gold Star mother through the halls of Congress\, into a National Press Conference\, onto dozens of national television sets and over two hundred local and national radio programs. She’s been featured on large stages across this country as a keynote speaker\, including a guest speaker position during opening night of the 2016 Republican National Convention. Through her endeavors\, Karen has gained audience with three of our nation’s presidents. \nKaren has been married to Billy Vaughn for thirty-seven years and still believes her greatest accomplishment on earth was raising her three children\, Aaron\, Tara\, and Ana.

SUMMARY:Special Veteran’s Week Presentation – Keni Thomas – Motivational Speaker\, Extraordinary Storyteller
DESCRIPTION:(Private VIP Reception Available\, see below the narrative) \nThanks to our Diamond Sponsors Life in Naples Magazine and Bowling Management \nDecorated U.S. military veteran-turned-country musician Keni Thomas gives a personal account of his heart-wrenching experiences in the chaotic 1993 Battle of Mogadishu to express a unique set of leadership lessons and inspired view of our greater purpose\, and how we can apply these lessons in everyday life. \nIn the summer of 93\, Sgt. Keni Thomas was deployed to Mogadishu Somalia 3rd Ranger Battalion as part of a special operations team called “Task Force Ranger.”  Their mission was to find and capture a criminal warlord named Mohammed Farrah Aideed. On the 3rd of Oct Sgt. Thomas and his fellow rangers distinguished themselves in an 18 hour fire fight that would later be recounted in the highly successful book and movie “Blackhawk Down.” 19 Americans died and 78 were wounded in the worst urban combat seen by US troops since WWII. \nSSG Thomas stayed in the Army for 3 more years as a team leader for a six-man ranger reconnaissance team. He earned his master parachutist rating with over 400 military free fall jumps. He completed the Special Forces Combat Diver course\, Advanced EMT\, Army HALO School\, Pathfinder school\, earned British\, Belgian and Thailand Parachute wings and was one of ten Americans to complete the Belgium Commando Course. \nKeni got out of the Army and now works full time as an award winning Nashville recording artist.
